John V. Rigsbee, Durham County Sheriff, 1886-1888, 1894-1896
John Rigsbee, Durham County’s third and fifth sheriff, served two nonconsecutive terms from 1886 to 1888 and from 1894 to 1896. Rigsbee was the county’s first Republican sheriff.
