James T. Hill (1950-present), born in Roxboro, N.C., received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. He was in private practice and served as an arbitrator for the 14th Judicial District from 1977 until his election to the district court bench in 2002. His legal interests and expertise are wide ranging, including civil, criminal, real estate, and wills and estates.
